Membership and participation in CPA is one way Colorado psychologists demonstrate their commitment to psychology as a vital profession of the highest standards.
Dues paid to CPA are not deductible as a charitable contribution because CPA is a 501 (c) 6 organization. Dues paid to CPA are not fully deductible as a business expense due to lobbying. For 2024 it is estimated that 35% of dues are non-deductible due to lobbying.
Membership to CPA is a date-based membership! If you join CPA, your membership is active for 365 days!

Membership Levels

- Full Member - $299 (USD)
- Student Member - $33 (USD) The applicant can demonstrate current enrollment as an undergraduate, graduate or intern via a current transcript. Student membership status shall be reviewed each year during the dues renewal period.
- Early Career Psychologists 1st Year - $77 (USD) Early Career Psychologists are entitled to discounted membership based on the number of years elapsed since receipt of doctoral degree. If it has been more than 5 years since you received your doctoral degree, please select the Full Member rate.
- Early Career Psychologists 2nd Year - $152 (USD) Early Career Psychologists are entitled to discounted membership based on the number of years elapsed since receipt of doctoral degree. If it has been more than 5 years since you received your doctoral degree, please select the Full Member rate.
- Early Career Psychologists 3rd Year - $152 (USD) Early Career Psychologists are entitled to discounted membership based on the number of years elapsed since receipt of doctoral degree. If it has been more than 5 years since you received your doctoral degree, please select the Full Member.
- Early Career Psychologists 4th Year - $229 (USD) Early Career Psychologists are entitled to discounted membership based on the number of years elapsed since receipt of doctoral degree. If it has been more than 5 years since you received your doctoral degree, please select the Full Member rate.
- Early Career Psychologists 5th Year - $299 (USD) Early Career Psychologists are entitled to discounted membership based on the number of years elapsed since receipt of doctoral degree. If it has been more than 5 years since you received your doctoral degree, please select the Full Member rate.
- Master’s Level Associate Member - $142 (USD) The applicant has evidence of receipt of a master’s degree with a major concentration in Psychology or its equivalent, from an accredited graduate school or is otherwise licensed to practice Psychotherapy in the State of Colorado.
- Associate Member Out-of-State - $142 (USD) The applicant has evidence of receipt of the doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited graduate school and lives out of state.
- Exempt Life Member - Free Unlimited. This membership is open to members who have retired from the practice of psychology and who are recommended by the Membership Committee and approved for this status by a majority of a quorum of the Board of Directors.
- Life Contributing Member - $130 (USD) This membership is open to members who are 65 or older, are actively engaged in the practice of Psychology, and who are recommended by the Membership Committee and approved for this status by a majority of a quorum of the Board of Directors. Annual dues may be reduced up to one-half of the prevailing Full Member rate if the Member is working half time or less.
PLEASE NOTE: Your membership is under review for your first month of membership. Your application information will be sent to our Membership Approval Committee in order check for any DORA actions. If there are any complications or if we need additional information, CPA will reach out to you directly.
